SD30 SureDrop Collar Break-off Mechanism

This device will secure both ends of a collar together, instead of the usual metal fastener. At the pre-programmed time, a special firing squib will activate so that the collar is no longer securely fastened. Depending on species, length of time on animal, and other variables, the collar should fall off the animal in time, if not right away.

The supplied SureDrop software makes it easy to select the calendar date you want the squib to fire, up to five years hence. Setting the mechanism’s release time is easy using the wireless communication interface to a PC. The unit is designed for one time use.
